Fer Ruz
The first retreat that she attended was Hoopnotica´s “Hoop, Yoga and Play Retreat” in Costa Rica in Thanksgiving of 2012. And since then she fell in love with everything that had to do with Hooping, and it really became a wonderful addiction for her. Since then, Fer participated in different Hoop Retreats around the world, including: In Depth: An Advanced Hoop Dance Intensive 2013 in Hawaii with Shakti Sunfire and Luna Breeze, Hoopurbia Prague 2013 with Rebecca Halls, Jacqui Becker and Shakti Sunfire, Swiss Hoop Weekend 2013 in Switzerland with Lisa Lottie, Hoopcamp 2013 in Santa Cruz, California, with several hoop teachers like Gail Obrien, Baxter, Shakti Sunfire, Anah Hoopalicious, Catterina Suttin, Malcolm Stuart, Babz, Deanne Love, among others, and once again to Hoopnoticas “Hoop, Yoga and Play Retreat” 2013, with Jacqui Becker and Shakti Sunfire, and to In Depth: An Advanced Hoop Dance Intensive 2014, with Shakti Sunfire, Catterina Sutin, Luna Breeze and Safire.
During this time, Fer decided that she wanted to take Hooping more seriously (haha) and actually start making a living out of it. That is when she decided to get Certified with Hoopnotica so that she could start teaching in Mexico City. She was completely in love with hooping and how it had transformed her life, so she wanted to spread that same hooping joy and inspiration that she felt, around the world. She began teaching Hoop Fit and Hoop Flow classes from Monday to Friday, and really enjoyed it.
After some hard work, passion and commitment she was given a once in a lifetime opportunity: to begin a training process to become Hoopnotica´s First Spanish Language Master Trainer. This was what she was waiting for; this was her opportunity to be able to travel around the world, teaching hooping, and spreading as much hoop joy, health , happiness and to actually feel like she could be like that girl she saw on youtube, she will not be exactly the same, not Lisa Lottie, but Fernanda Ramírez Ruz.
Fer´s hoop journey actually began because she was a juggler. One day she was looking at some juggling videos on You Tube, when she came across one of Lisa Lotties hoop videos. She thought it was beautiful, and was really curious to try it out, but never really thought she was going to be able to look as beautiful and graceful as her. That is when she began hooping, and she noticed that she could keep the hoop on her waist for a really long time!
As time went by and Fer began to learn about the Hooping Community around the world, hooping began to positively transform her life! Since then, and over a year ago, Fer realized that there was so much she had to learn to become a “real hoop dancer”, so she spent this past year, travelling to Hoop Retreats and learning as much as she could in every workshop she took.
